This domain was formerly the home of Virginia Birthing Freedom, the seminal grassroots movement to improve
consumer access to direct entry midwives. Between 1997 and 2002, VBF developed language that became the essence of the VA CPM
licensing law that was eventually enacted in 2005. VBF also developed and hosted a fifty-state "birth policy" reference site which
gradually morphed into the original BirthPolicy.org website.
